'2012+' because its actually 2015.00 miles as depicted. I went a little over on my last ride.... but who's counting? ;)

2012 Miles Bicycled in 2012!!

That's a bit zoomed out, so here's a close up excluding the extreme north and south trips to Kensington Metropark and Milan, Michigan, respectively. Click either image for a much larger version.

W00t!! With the weather turning cold and Winter showing its fangs, I made the final push this weekend and completed my goal!!!

Here's a picture of me I took at the 2000 mile mark on today's trip... Finger 'V' is actually '2' for 2000 miles. ;)
Cold weather gear! Riding in mid-30°F temps to get the milage!

There's a collection of detailed images on Flickr, find them via my blogpost here.

Awesome Biking Staycation!

I had off work from July 4 through July 8. Even though we had a heat wave with temps in the high 90°s and even above 100° I still got out there and rode!

Quarter-mile Hike

As a bike-based explorer, I so often find bikable trails at the end of 'Dead End' streets. Sometimes... not so much. :)

My GPS shows Craig Road as a solid line connected here east/west. If there was ever a connection here it was a long time ago. Certainly too overgrown for biking, but a fun hike. :)

Also, don't trust your GPS!

Riding on a foot-wide 'skinny'... not as easy as it sounds. Perhaps it will be easier on a drier day when the boards are not so slick. Did it though. :)

More About How I Use Google Earth

Exploring more about my 'One Year Of Bike Rides' graphic. Google Earth has at least one thing over most maps... its in 3D! That means you get really cool maps like these:

The Bike I'm Riding & GPS Gear

The bike I'm riding is the Novara Matador, from REI in Ann Arbor, MI. It has 29-inch tires, disc brakes, SRAM X7 drivetrain, and front suspension with a hard tail. It looks like this:

"A Fitness Journey"

Everyone begins somewhere. Here's a short documentary I created to tell the tale of where I began my fitness journey.
